What's Wrong with the Seattle Mariners?

After starting off so well in the month of April the Mariners month of May in 2009 has been a nightmare. Cold bats at the plate with runners in scoring postion {R.I.S.P} has cost the Mariners a lot of victories in the month of May. The Mariners infield has also cost them games with their careless play by making a lot of errors. Patchwork Band-Aid Mariner bullpen relievers seem to walk more people than crosswalk. The Mariners new closer David Ardsma has pitched 25.1 innings and has walked 18 batters. How can the Mariners turn it around and make a run in the A.L. West?

First the Mariners need good solid starting pitching from there core rotation {Washburn, Hernandez, Bedard}. Mariners bullpen {Lowe, Batista, Morrow, Ardsma} must come into games and throw strikes so the can get off the field right away. Next the Mariners offense must score runs early in games when they have runners in scoring position. The middle part of the Mariners line-up {3} {4} hitters with Beltre and Griffey have not prouduced at the plate. Look for Griffey and Beltre to get moved down in the lineup if they continue to struggle with {R.I.S.P} by showing no patients at the plate. The Mariners infield fielding must get better with Lopez, Beltre and Yunisky. The Mariners are only 6.5 games out of first place with four months to go. The Mariners must forget about the month of May and try to get back to how they played in April.
