The Tez Heads to the Hall!

August 4, 2012 wont be just any day for all Seahawks fans, it will be the day that Seahawks legend Defensive Tackle (96) Cortez Kennedy will be inducted into the NFL'S Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. From 1990 through 2000, Kennedy graced all Seahawks fans with an unstoppable motor and work ethic. Kennedy played through 9 losing seasons, and only 2 winning seasons as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. In 1992 he was named Defensive Player of the Year, despite the Seahawks having a 2-14 record and an offense scoring only 143 total points that year. Getting doubled and tripled team was a norm for Kennedy, who split those double and triple teams and made numerous tackles of backs in the back-field, and career total of 58 sacks. The former '6 3" - 305 lbs. Miami Hurricane, and number 2 pick overall in 1990, always stayed humble and let his game do the talking throughout his career a Seahawk. A lot of Seahawk (non-season ticket holders) fans did not get a chance to watch many of the Seahawks home games on television during the 90's because of the NFL'S blackout policy. Throughout all blackouts the flashlight was always on when it came to number 96, Cortez Kennedy.

Cortez went to 8 Pro-Bowls and played in only 5 nationally televised NFL games out of a total of 167. Surely Cortez never could have imagined that his sixth televised game would be without pads on August 4, 2012 in Canton, Ohio. The definition of Cortez Kennedy would be that "he never gave up or quit and continued to work on every down".

Steve Largent in 1995 was the only Seahawks player to be put into the NFL Hall of Fame before Cortez. Thank You Cortez Kennedy for all the great Seattle Seahawks memories!!!!
